FREE BUSINESS REGISTRATION FOR FEMALE OWNED SMES IN GHANA.

In a significant move to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ghana, Mastercard has partnered with the Ghana Enterprise Agency (GEA) to provide free business and product registration services under the Biz in a Box project for female owned businesses.

With SMEs accounting for a substantial portion of Ghana’s economy, this collaboration seeks to promote financial inclusion, foster entrepreneurship, and enhance business credibility. By offering free registration, the program will empower thousands of small female owned businesses to become legally recognized entities, positioning them for greater success in both local and international markets.

This is a part of Mastercard’s broader commitment to driving economic inclusion across Africa, leveraging digital solutions and strategic partnerships to empower small businesses.

The Ghana Enterprise Agency, a key government institution focused on SME development, will play a pivotal role in implementing the program, ensuring that female owned businesses across the country benefit from this opportunity.

As Ghana continues to prioritize SME growth as a catalyst for economic development, this partnership is set to make a lasting impact by creating a more inclusive and structured business environment by facilitating formal business registration.

SMEs will gain access to essential financial services, including credit facilities, which are often inaccessible to unregistered businesses. This access to capital can drive business expansion, increase production capacity, and foster innovation within the SME sector.
