What Is the Bloom Africa Impact Fund?


The Bloom Africa Impact Fund is a flagship initiative by nonprofit The Bloom Africa, launched in 2019 to empower young African and Diasporan women pursuing secondary, undergraduate, and entrepreneurial paths in tech, leadership, and personal development 

✅ Eligibility Criteria for the Bloom Scholars Program 

To qualify for the Bloom Scholars Program, applicants must:

  • ✅ Be a recent female secondary school graduate

  • ✅ Hold citizenship in an African country

  • ✅ Intend to enroll in a recognized university in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, or South Africa for the 2025 academic year

  • ✅ Clearly demonstrate financial need

  • ✅ Show a strong passion for leadership and making a positive social impact. 


Why It Matters

This scholars program:

  • Bridges the gender gap in African tertiary education by providing tuition scholarships up to $500 yearly for the entire duration of the undergraduate studies 

  • Equips a new generation of women with skills, funds, and entrepreneurial confidence

  • Supports Holistic Development: education + skill-building + leadership training = global-impact readiness.

📑 Required Documents to apply for the scholarship 

  • ✅ Official high school transcript

  • ✅ Final secondary school examination results

  • ✅ College entrance or post-secondary examination results

  • ✅ Provisional admission letter from a recognized university

  • ✅ Responses to up to 7 short essay questions

  • ✅ A completed recommendation form

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a brief virtual interview as part of the selection process.
